Constipation is one of the most common concerns parents face when babies start solids or when toddlers begin eating a wider variety of foods. Changes in diet, lower fiber intake, dehydration, or even travel and routine disruptions can all slow things down for little digestive systems. The good news is that certain foods can naturally support regular bowel movements and gentle digestion.
This constipation smoothie is designed with babies over 6 months and toddlers in mind. It combines fiber-rich fruits with yogurt to help soften stool and support healthy digestion.
The texture is smooth and easy for little ones to drink or eat with a spoon, making it a simple option for babies who are already enjoying smoothies or thicker purees. It’s also naturally sweet, nutritious, and easy to prepare in just a few minutes.
Ingredients for Making the Constipation Smoothie:
- 3/4 cup plain yogurt or milk kefir
- 1/2 cup frozen berries (any kind)
- 1 small ripe banana (or half of a large one), fresh or frozen
- 3-4 prunes

Directions for Making the Constipation Smoothie:
- Place all the ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend well until smooth. You can add more milk or alternative to reach the desired consistency.
* Frozen fruit will give it a thicker, milk shake-like texture, if using fresh fruits you may want to add 1 or 2 ice cubes.
